Grey hair doesn't have to be the hard part

If you're over 40, your hair probably isn't one color anymore. A few silver strands at the temples, maybe. Or a full salt-and-pepper mix that looks different depending on the light.

Matching that with a hair system is harder than it should be. Most brands stock a handful of shades and tell you to pick the closest one. If you land between two of them, that's your problem to solve.

We built our inventory the other way around, starting from the grey.

Why grey human hair is a pain to stock

Real human grey has a shelf life. Leave it in a warehouse long enough and it starts to yellow. The silver goes brassy, the tone shifts, and a unit that matched perfectly on the day it was made can look wrong by the time it reaches your door.

That's why most brands don't hold much human grey. It doesn't keep. So they either skip it entirely or offer a short range and hope nobody looks too closely.

What's actually on the shelf

For the stock range, we use synthetic grey. I know how that reads on a product page, where synthetic usually means cheaper. For grey specifically it isn't. Synthetic fiber doesn't yellow, it holds the same tone batch after batch, and it sits well next to the human hair in the rest of the unit.

That's the reason we can keep 48,000 grey-blend units in the warehouse at all. The range runs from 5% grey, which is just a few strands, up to 90% for a head that's mostly grey. Whatever your hair is doing at 45, 55, or 65, there's a blend that sits into it without a visible line.

If you want real grey

We do custom orders in 100% human grey. Yak grey is the other option, a premium fiber with its own grey tone that takes to blending well. Both are made to order and ship in about 40 days, which is fast for custom work in this industry. We own the factory, so your order goes straight to the production floor instead of into somebody else's queue.

Percentages from 5% to 90%

Five percent if you've just started noticing silver. Ten, twenty, thirty for a gradual salt-and-pepper. Fifty for an even mix. Seventy, eighty, ninety once grey has mostly taken over. Tell us the number and we build to it.

Not sure which one you need

Color matching by email is free. Send us a photo taken in daylight, because bathroom lighting lies about grey more than any other color, and we'll tell you which blend to order.

Grey is usually the detail that gives a system away. Get the match right and it does the opposite.
