Some people prefer a long-term bond. Others go with a quick daily attachment instead.
Will people notice?
At normal social distance, usually not — as long as the color match, cut, and install are done right.
What gives most systems away isn't the hair itself, it's the details:
- An unnatural hairline
- Thick lace edges
- Poor color blending
- The wrong density
Most beginners go too dense. A slightly lighter density almost always reads more natural.
How long does one system last?
It depends more on the base type and your lifestyle than on the price.
- Ultra-thin skin: around 1–2 months
- Lace / hybrid: around 2–4 months
- Mono: around 3–5 months
Sweat, gym, swimming, sun exposure, and how often you reinstall all affect lifespan.
What does upkeep actually take — time and money?
Two kinds of upkeep, both manageable once you have a routine:
- Time: a re-install takes most wearers 20–40 minutes, once every 1–4 weeks depending on base type and adhesive.
- Supplies: tape or glue plus a remover/cleanser — typically in the $15–30 a month range depending on what you use.
Thin-skin bases trade lifespan for invisibility, so budget for more frequent replacement (see above).

How do I know it’ll fit?
Most first-timers fit a standard base size: measure front hairline to nape, and temple to temple, then compare with the size chart on the product page.
Bases are also cut-to-fit — trimming the perimeter to match your hairline is a normal part of every install, so an exact factory match isn't required.

Can I install it myself?
Yes — most people can learn.
That said, the first few installs probably won't look perfect, and that's normal.
For beginners, hybrid systems (lace front + PU perimeter) tend to be the easiest balance between a realistic look and ease of use.
How fast does shipping take?
In-stock US items usually ship the same or next business day, and typically arrive in 2–5 business days.
Custom systems take longer since they are built to spec — for those, order as early as possible.
What if I pick the wrong color or density?
It happens more often than people think.
