What goes wrong with grey toupees, and what we do differently

The grey turns. That's the complaint we hear most often. A system looks right for a month, then the silver strands yellow at the front where the sun hits them. Human grey hair is porous — it takes dye from shampoo and product, picks up whatever else is floating around — and UV finishes the job. Once the grey shifts, it no longer matches the hair growing out of your own scalp, and that's the moment other people start looking.

We build our stock grey units with synthetic grey fiber. No dye absorption, so nothing to stain. No yellowing outdoors. The shape holds, and the finish is matte, not shiny.

Two details decide whether a unit reads as real: the cuticle and the knots. Every strand goes through a full hour of cuticle stripping, which is why the hair stays soft instead of going brittle after a handful of washes. The hairline is bleached knot, so the front edge disappears — you can't find the line where the system begins.
