Which brand has affordable human hair toupees? (My take after looking into Lyrical Hair)

The cheapest option, the PAPY-J, has a PU base. That's basically a thin skin-like material. Good for beginners. Not the most breathable thing in summer, but it works.
Their mid-range stuff sits around $179 to $219. Mostly French lace with poly coating. The lace gives you a more natural hairline, and the poly around the edges makes it stick better.
The top-tier model, the OCT, runs about $249. Full French lace, bleached knots, the whole deal. The knots are bleached so they blend into your scalp and the hair looks like it's growing right out of your head.
But is it actually good?

If you're new to hair systems, get someone who knows what they're doing to help you install it. Lyrical Hair themselves say this on their product pages. The unit shows up uncut and unstyled. You need a stylist.
How long do they last?
With proper care, 6 to 12 months. That's what the company says, and from what I've seen in reviews, it checks out for the lace models. The PU-based ones might last a bit less since the base material breaks down faster.
So if you go with the $120 PAPY-J and it lasts 6 months, you're looking at about $20 a month. The $249 OCT lasting 9 months comes out to roughly $28 a month. Either way, it's a fraction of what you'd pay going through a salon.
Shipping and all that

My honest take
I think Lyrical Hair sits in a weird spot, and I mean that in a good way. It's not the absolute cheapest option out there. You can find $30 toupees on eBay if you want to roll those dice. But it's also nowhere near the $2,000+ salon territory. It's that middle ground where you're getting real human hair, decent construction, and a company that's been doing this for over 20 years.
